New House One Year Anniversary

WOW! We've been here an entire YEAR! The frogs are SO LOUD at night this time of year, I just LOVE it! Can't wait to start gardening again and being outside more. It's almost time to start mowing again, what a lovely break we've had since November. I've noticed the weeds have started up again. AND the raspberries are starting to leaf out-hooray! I am so excited to see how they fruit this year (and the blueberries, too)...you know, getting to see the (real) fruit of our labors from last year.

None of us have missed the other house at all. Once we moved, it was like our hearts moved, too. We love it here. I only wish it was closer to our friends.

We Did It!

We did it! The old house is empty and the new one is FULL! We are here!

I will miss our great private wooded backyard and the view of the changing seasons from the dining room. But there are great new memories in store!

Packing

My friend Christi has been helping me pack. She's come to my house FOUR times. What a sacrifice for her and her entire family to love us this way, I'm so grateful.

We packed the kitchen today, tomorrow Jeri is coming to help pack, the movers come on Friday and Saturday we get a UHaul to get the last including the firewood.

The entire month of February was spent p-a-c-k-i-n-g. The kids did a great job working with me to pack their rooms. It was a new experience and stress has been high with all the boxes and the mad dash to get everything purged and packed. We've had loads of giveaway and Christi has helped me throw away and she has taken away a lot of stuff to Craigslist later on. We've worked like crazy and it is paying off!

We Are Moving

We've been looking at houses in various areas for the past 6+ months and I think we found what we are looking for today! Some of our friends are moving and we've been wanting a more rural lifestyle since we started homeschooling. We'll be on a shy acre with a backyard of several horse pastures (we don't have a horse). It has a garden shed and a micro-barn with plenty of room for a few chickens!

Of course, the very thought of packing up and moving gives me the shivers. I don't know how this is possibly going to work for March 1st. (!)
