Thursday Weed Bouquet

I love watching my daughter outside...she is so curious and always finds fun things to do. Overnight the dandelions bloomed and there's a flower farm right outside the front and back door! So cheery!

Walking the...CAT

Yes, Sarah is walking the CAT! Poor kitty!

She was careful to not choke the kitty, but we all decided that since Shadow wasn't having fun, Sarah could stop doing this...but we have a photo for the scrapbook!

Sarah's Weed Bouquet

We are finally getting settled. Most of the boxes are unpacked and I'm trying to move us back toward our routine we had before we decided to move.

In the last house, we let the yard get away from us. It never really looked as nice and tidy as it did when we moved in, so we are aware we need to add weeding to our chore list to keep the new house looking really cared for!

Today we went out to the "pool pasture" and weeded under the fencing. Sarah decided that her weeds would make a lovely bouquet. I agree.

I Love Being Outside

A wet day here on the farm. I like the sound of that. We really aren't a farm, but we are surrounded by horses and cows (across the street), lots of frogs and chickens and a rooster next door, so it feels farmy.

Sarah took great delight in this water droplet today. I take great delight in her.

St Patrick's Day Costume

Sarah loves to decorate for each holiday. Here she is with some decorations (she made a shamrock to hang from the ceiling out of that green yarn) and a costume. Can you see her headband and matching earrings and bracelet (not to mention the shoes!!)?

Sarah's Cartwheels

Sarah has been delightfully diligent to practice over and over her cartwheels...she's really improving! I'm so proud of her!

Loads of Learning, Profusion of Play

I spent this week in a very loose routine. Daniel picked up "Story of the Orchestra" by Robert Levine and has really enjoyed listening to the CD and reading about composers. Interestingly, I had purchased this for us to do as a school subject early on when we started homeschooling. That didn't go well. Now here he is digesting it on his own!

Sarah wants to build a pallet playhouse outside, so I had her draw plans and make a prototype, which she is doing with matchboxes. She also is playing a game with herself which involves dressing up and doing her hair. Oh, and she was cleaning out a box of her stuff and found some Silly Putty and hence, the snake.

Sarah's September

Just a few random shots I took this month, Sarah loves to build, I see several projects here (the Cheerio House she made for her cousin Jada,  rocket (made out of bottles) for Ugly Kitty, the angel wings for Ode, the swing made from a hanger and box lid). Right now she is in the garage pounding nails into a piece of wood. She wants to make a fort in the backyard...pallet fort maybe.

Monkey Pillow

Sarah announced, "I want to make a pillow for Jada"...and off we go! She is really improving her sewing, corners and stuffing. It turned out awesome!

Sarah makes everything into a sing-songy games...I cut my peonies and left all the cut leaves and stems where she snatched a few...Ode has wings, Ode has a hat...she's so sweet!

Spring Painting On The Patio

And then Sarah painted on the patio. I love how she painted Black Kitty for Daniel and presented it to him later on. So sweet how she thinks of her brother...she is growing in love!
