Homeschool History-H.A. Guerber The Story of the Greeks

I can't believe, we actually finally finished Ancient History! Now we're on to The Greeks! We've REALLY enjoyed the Book of Greek Myths, and have discussed a little about their influence on modern culture. I will not just read one chapter at a time...the kids enjoy it so I may read several chapters at breakfast time and then we'll be onto the Romans before we know it!

Piano Girl

I don't know what it is, but there's some kind of keyboard/piano program on Dad's computer. Here's Sarah and Dad doing a little playing by ear.

Literature For Lunch-New Lunch Read Aloud-Discovering Nature's Laws-A Story About Isaac Newton by Laura Purdie Salas

I really like the Creative Minds Biographies. They are simple and easy to understand. This one is on Sir Issac Newton-fabulous!
I have to comment that reading these it getting A LITTLE WEIRD! When we read our first one about Gutenberg, we read it on his "death day" which I think was February 3rd! As I read, I looked up and said, "why, today is February 3rd"! Then when we read Germ Hunter about Pasteur, we read it on Feb 15th and there was some important date on THAT SAME DAY.
We read the one about Eastman and I don't remember any dates, but TODAY we finished Sir Isaac Newton and GUESS WHAT!!??!?! "On March 2, 1727, Newton traveled to London for a Royal Society meeting"!! TODAY is March 2nd AND Newton died on DANIEL'S BIRTHDAY! Fun!

Ergo Card Game Of Logic

John though Daniel would like this card game called Ergo...he was right!
Amazon says: "Ergo is the logical card game for the geek in all of us. Each player plays a variable (A, B, C, or D) and uses familiar logical operators like 'Not', 'And', 'Or', 'If-Then' to prove they exist, and that their opponents don't!"

Dan loved it!
